This page explains what happens to information you send us, what the site records on its own, and how to have that information corrected or removed. It applies to kh-demo.com and to any email you send the editor directly.
When you write in with a job photo, a question or a correction, we receive your name, email address and whatever you type in the message. If you include a phone number or a site address, that sits in the same email thread. We keep reader correspondence so we can follow up, quote you accurately in a post, and avoid repeating the same answer twice.
The site records standard technical details: browser and device type, approximate location from your IP address, pages viewed and time on page. We use cookies and similar storage for basic analytics and to remember layout preferences. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings; the pages will still load, though some preferences will reset.
Reader emails are used to answer questions, prepare posts and credit contributions where you agree. Analytics data tells us which trade topics are worth writing about and where the site breaks on older phones. We do not sell reader lists, and we do not run sponsored placements dressed up as editorial.
Limited data passes to providers who keep the site running: our hosting company, the analytics service and the email provider that handles the editor inbox. They process information on our instructions. We may disclose details if a valid legal request requires it, or to protect the site against abuse. Nothing else leaves our hands.
Reader emails are kept while the thread is useful, then reviewed and cleared periodically. Analytics records are kept in aggregated form. If you ask us to delete a message and any photos attached to it, we remove them from the inbox and from any draft post that has not been published.
You can ask what we hold about you, request a copy, have errors corrected, or ask for deletion. You can withdraw consent for analytics at any time by adjusting your browser settings. Readers in the EU and UK have these rights under the GDPR, and California readers under the CCPA. Write to the editor and we will respond within a reasonable period.
